Introduction

Let me greet you on behalf of my colleagues as I have the honour to manage the operation of the Academy Club Restaurant and have enjoyed the challenges of this rewarding job since May 2000 in a symbolic building with the magnificent touch and atmosphere of history and culture.

Such great men of our cultural heritage walked up the very same stairs and marvelled at the beauty of the Danube and the Chain Bridge through the same windows of the Vörösmarty Hall 100-140 years ago as János Arany, Zoltán Kodály, Mihály Babits, Kálmán Mikszáth, Béla Bartók, Mór Jókai or Gyula Illyés and were probably as mesmerized by the panoramic view of the Buda Castle as we are today.

I believe that the Hungarian Academy of Sciences is a unique venue and its facilities are much different from those of other catering companies also of high standard and providing first class hospitality services in Budapest. Our staff is daily inspired by the exquisite location, exclusive interior and distinguished spirit of this special building of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The richly and meticulously decorated halls of the Academy Club – having been reconstructed according to the design of József Finta in 1998 – are of unsurpassed beauty in Budapest and Hungary. We continuously dedicate our extensive experience in creating, co-ordinating and managing events to live up to the expectations of our guests and provide excellent catering service for the benefit of our clients.

In order to maintain the outstanding quality of our services we have harmonized all our processes in line with the strict regulations of the international ISO 9001 quality control policy and the HACCP system both inside the premises of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and at all venues of our catering service.
Our hospitality philosophy harmoniously combines the encounter of traditions and modern innovation, constant rejuvenation both in our variety of dishes and visual image. The gastronomic manifestation and realization of our ideas appear within the preparation of traditional national Hungarian dishes with the most up-to-date technological novelties of the art cuisine, sophisticated presentation and serving as well as the creative use of finest ingredients from authentic producers.
